AI-Assisted UV Lining: A Smarter Approach to Drainage Repairs

At Metcor Group, we deliver smarter, more reliable drainage repair solutions. As networks age and efficiency expectations rise, AI-assisted UV lining lets us rehabilitate pipes quickly, safely, and without excavation—combining engineering expertise with advanced monitoring to boost performance and sustainability.

Senior Engineer Kyle Claydon has led the adoption of this technology, helping our teams deliver faster, safer, and more consistent drainage repairs across projects.

How UV Lining Works

UV lining is a trenchless method that restores the structural integrity of existing pipes without the need for excavation.

The process starts with a CCTV inspection to measure pipe condition. The liner is loaded, inverted, and cured with UV equipment. Ends are cut, and a post-install check confirms success.

This approach allows drainage systems to be rehabilitated efficiently, with minimal disruption to clients and the surrounding environment.

The Advantage of AI-Assisted Technology

A standout feature of modern UV lining systems is their smart monitoring capability. AI-assisted technology continuously monitors installation conditions, ensuring the process is safe and accurate. Operational data is recorded throughout, providing transparency for the engineering team and clients alike. If issues arise, the data helps identify the cause quickly and improve future installations.

Consistent Results & Flexibility

UV lining produces uniform, high-quality finishes and removes time pressures of traditional resin methods. Wet-out liners can be stored for months, giving teams flexibility during installation.

Continuing to Innovate

Adopting AI-assisted UV lining reflects Metcor Group’s commitment to smarter infrastructure maintenance. By combining engineering expertise with advanced technology, we deliver efficient, reliable, and sustainable drainage repair solutions, extending asset life while minimising disruption.
