The Role of a Remedials/Reactive HGV Drainage Engineer

Have you got at least a year’s experience in the drainage industry looking for career progression opportunities as a Remedials/Reactive HGV Drainage Engineer?

Do you have a Class 2 license?

We are actively recruiting for a HGV Drainage Engineer to join the Remedials/Reactive team. The main purpose of this role is to visit various client sites, including industrial estates, retail parks, shopping centres, and office buildings to conduct drainage works for reactive and emergency response.

This is a full time PAYE role, working a 50-hour week. Flexibility is key to success in this role, as you will need to accommodate early morning starts (e.g. 2am/3am/4am) and occasional overnight stays away from home. We take care of your accommodation expenses during these trips and provide you with a budget for meals.

Key Responsibilities of a Remedials/Reactive HGV Drainage Engineer

  • Operating a jet vac combi unit up to 26 tonnes.
  • Maintaining the vehicle and equipment to the best condition.
  • Vacuum tanker operations and wastewater management.
  • Adhering to all health and safety policies at all times, following safety protocols for a remedials/reactive HGV drainage engineer.
  • Attend reactive works as and when they arrive in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out descale works for below ground drainage, line cleaning, root cutting, and confined space entry works.
  • Emptying of external grease traps.
  • Extensive tanker extraction works to Foul and Surface water systems/ Pump stations/ Petrol Interceptors
  • Working alongside CCTV & Drainage teams supporting and facilitating surveys, inspections and detailed investigation works which will involve fault finding and providing practical solutions to support the client’s needs.
  • Support specialist teams with lining, patching and rehabilitation works.

The Person

  • At least a years experience in the drainage industry.
  • Class 2 license minimum
  • Problem solving and attention to detail is a must.
