Introducing the Metcor Continuous Improvement Champions Programme
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Metcor Continuous Improvement Champions Programme. It reflects something we care about deeply at Metcor: that our people are our greatest asset, and that investing in them is how we grow, how we improve, and how we continue to deliver the specialist solutions our clients depend on. Our people have always had a passion for solving complex problems. The Continuous Improvement Champions Programme is how we give that passion the structure, skills, and support to go further.
Designed and led by John Hockley, Head of Continuous Improvement, the programme begins with division heads nominating a champion from within their team. Those individuals then take part in focused training sessions covering the fundamentals of problem-solving, rooted in Lean Six Sigma methodology. Between sessions, each champion identifies an area for improvement in their own part of the business, scopes it with their line manager and John, and works through a structured process to develop and implement a solution.
In John’s words: “We work together to identify an area for improvement within each champion’s own part of the business. They agree the scope with their manager, map out the problem, develop a solution, and implement it. By the end, everyone will have made a real improvement in their area.”
For the champions themselves, the rewards are tangible: hands-on training they can apply immediately, formal recognition through a Green or Yellow Belt on completion, and the opportunity to present their project outcomes directly to the Senior Leadership Team.
For the business, the programme builds a growing network of capable, improvement-focused people and lays the foundation for a core component of the Metcor Academy. For our clients, the benefits are equally direct — smarter internal processes mean faster response times, fewer errors, and solutions built to last.
At Metcor, we believe the best solutions come from empowered people. The CI Champions Programme is our commitment to making that more than a statement. We look forward to sharing outcomes as our first cohort gets to work.
