We want our field-service engineers to be the strongest technical operators in their discipline. That is why we are so passionate about continuous improvement and development. We offer a range of certifications and courses for all operatives, including:

  • Regular H&S third-party certification (e.g., confined space training, working at heights)
  • Specialist electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition)
  • DrainSafe qualification
  • IPAF and IRATA training
  • Equipment training with manufacturers (e.g., pump OEMs, milling machinery)
  • Quarterly toolbox talk seminars
  • 6-monthly 1:1 appraisals and development plans

Long service awards

It is a testament to our company culture that we have a number of engineers, office staff and managers who have worked for over twenty years at Metcor Group companies. We love to recognise work anniversaries, and for those who reach the twenty year milestone, we provide £1,000 as a tax-free gift. We also link benefits to length of service, with employees gaining additional days of annual leave after completing 3 years’ service.

Apprenticeships

Metcor has a successful track record in supporting young people through apprenticeship schemes, both in technical areas and in administrative fields.

We are proud of the fact that several of our senior managers and engineers started life as apprentices, and this is a tradition that we are dedicated to supporting.

Vehicle benefits

We invest considerably in our fleet, to ensure that it is sustainable, efficient, and high-quality. Our engineers enjoy comfortable vans and HGVs, with enhanced safety features, climate controls, Bluetooth and navigation.

We have upgraded our fleet to Euro 6 standards to eliminate emissions, are also investing in electric vehicles as part of our Net Zero strategy.
